Why this spot

1882-1901 ranch-country county seat

First settlement and county seat of Butte County, founded in 1882 on the Redwater River, with saloons, about six stores, a bank, a hotel, a flour mill and two newspapers by 1883. In 1890 the railroad went to Belle Fourche instead and the town was abandoned by 1901.View source →
