Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Mudlark Map ("we", "us") collects when you use mudlarkmap.com and the Mudlark Map application (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address and basic authentication data so we can create and secure your account.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment provider (Stripe) processes your payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and limited billing details. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Usage data. We collect basic, largely aggregated analytics about how the Service is used, such as pages and features viewed and general device and browser information, to understand and improve the product.
- Content you provide. If you log finds, save sites, or contact us, we store what you submit so the feature works.
2. How we use information
We use this information to provide and secure the Service, to process subscriptions, to respond to you, to understand and improve how the Service works, and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies and local storage
The Service uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your chosen map layer and filters. Some of this data stays only in your browser. You can clear it in your browser settings, though some features may then stop working.
4. Service providers
We share information only with the providers that help us run the Service, under their own terms and privacy policies. These currently include our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our payment provider (Stripe), and analytics tools. Map imagery and historical map layers are served by third-party map providers.
5. Data retention
We keep account and subscription information for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.
6. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information, and you can unsubscribe from any non-essential emails. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here.
