Why this spot

1856-1905 Mormon Road ranching settlement

Started in 1856 when Jacob Hamblin built a ranch house over Mountain Meadow beside the Mormon Road, it sold supplies to drovers and emigrants and cared for the children who survived the 1857 massacre. After the railroad ended traffic on the road and the meadow was overgrazed, residents left for Enterprise and it was mostly deserted by 1890.View source →
