Why this spot
1860-1870 Holcomb Valley gold rush
Boomtown of the Holcomb Valley gold rush that reached nearly 1,500 people in 1860, with stores, saloons, a stamp mill and a sawmill, and nearly won the county seat. It was a rough, secessionist town, and it emptied as the placers ran out around 1870.View source →
