Why this spot
1925-1936 land boom planned town
A Moorish-themed town planned in 1925 by a Michigan kit-home maker for 10,000 people, which opened with a house built in a single day from flown-in materials. Some homes, a town hall and a train station were built before the boom collapsed after the 1926 hurricane, and the sales company dissolved in 1936.View source →
