Where: England · Europe · approx. 54.95, -1.36 (vicinity only)
Why this spot: 19th to early 20th century
What turns up: Sea glass, worn pottery and occasional bottle bases on a rocky and sandy shore between Roker and South Shields, fed by the wider Sunderland/Wearside glass and ceramic industry.
Access: Gray area.
Public beach with parking nearby; beachcombing loose sea glass is fine. The low cliffs and rock ledges can be slippery and the tide comes in around the rocks, so mind the tide times; there is no permission or safe way to dig the backing land.
