Searching is prohibited east of the Thames Barrier; keep to the western side of the peninsula and clear of piers, jetties and moorings. Tidal foreshore: a PLA foreshore permit is required, and as of 2025-2026 new applications are paused (wait list over 10,000), so no new permits are being issued; note that all foreshore searching east of the Thames Barrier is prohibited, so stay west of the barrier and check pla.co.uk.
