Where: South Carolina · approx. 32.79, -79.86 (vicinity only)
Why this spot: 1890s+ Sanborn-mapped town on On Charleston Harbor and Shem Creek, directly opposite the Charleston peninsula.
What turns up: Harbor-front glass, oyster-house debris, and late 1800s bottles and stoneware along Shem Creek and the old village lots.
Access: Gray area.
The harbor and Shem Creek bottoms and the tidelands below the ordinary high-water mark are state-owned public trust with protected submerged antiquities, so bottom recovery is restricted. Village uplands are private and need permission; state law protects archaeological sites and unmarked burials.
