Where: Wyoming · approx. 41.31, -105.59 (vicinity only)
Why this spot: 1880s+ Sanborn-mapped town on Laramie River
What turns up: Dumps behind the early First and Second Street commercial rows, Union Pacific rolling-mill and tie-treatment yard scatter, brewery and saloon cellars, and refuse along the Laramie River flats east of the tracks; embossed drug-store bottles, beers, and railroad-era stoneware.
Access: Gray area.
Townsite lots and the rail yard are private or railroad-owned and need the owner's permission; the Laramie River bed below the ordinary high-water mark is state-owned public-trust ground where removing historic artifacts is restricted, and nearby federal land is subject to the Archaeological Resources Protection Act protecting sites over 100 years old.
