Where: Kansas · approx. 37.92, -95.4 (vicinity only)
Why this spot: 1880s+ Sanborn-mapped town on Neosho River, east of the city
What turns up: Riverbank and smelter-era industrial dumps and back-lot privies: 1880s to 1910 bottles, druggist glass embossed Iola, stoneware, zinc-smelter and gas-boom hardware near the river and the old works.
Access: Gray area.
Navigability of the Neosho here is uncertain, so the streambed may be privately owned to the riparian line rather than state public trust; obtain the landowner's permission before searching banks or bed. Kansas law protects archaeological sites and unmarked burials.
