Why this spot

1900-1940s narrow-gauge railroad logging town

Logging town platted in 1900 as the main station on the narrow-gauge Sumpter Valley Railway, with an Oregon Lumber Company mill and a second Nibley Lumber Company mill from 1910. The 1918 mill fire started its decline and logging faded in the 1940s; the post office closed in 1943.View source →
