Why this spot

1908-1920s homestead-era railroad water stop

Station and water stop founded in 1908 during construction of the Milwaukee Road, with a small reservoir for locomotives and a wave of homesteaders. The land proved too arid to farm, the town declined from the 1920s, and the railroad was abandoned in 1980.View source →
