Why this spot

1902-1925 logging and pulp mill town

Settled in 1902 on Shavers Fork for logging and coal, Spruce grew around a 1904 West Virginia Pulp and Paper mill served by the Greenbrier and Elk Railroad. The mill closed in 1925, its equipment went to Luke, Maryland, and the town was abandoned.View source →
