Why this spot

1912-1960 iron and manganese mining village

Incorporated mining village on the Cuyuna Iron Range that peaked near 600 people around 1919 with two hotels, a bank, stores and a school. Mines closed after World War I and the 1924 Milford mine flood, and the village was abandoned by 1960 and dissolved in 1961.View source →
