Why this spot

1845-1960s sawmill and logging town

A Pearl River lumber town whose H. Weston Lumber Company, founded in 1889, was once the largest in the country, employing 1,200 men and supporting over 3,000 people at its peak. The timber ran out by 1930 and most remaining residents left when Stennis Space Center was built.View source →
