Why this spot
1905-1918 cement plant company town
United Kansas Portland Cement Company built a large plant and company town here in 1905, which passed 1,000 people by 1906 with Tom Mix as town marshal. After bankruptcy in 1914 and later takeovers, the plant closed around 1918, its equipment was sold and many houses were moved away.View source →
