Why this spot

1898-1917 Cook Inlet freight and trading town

Long a Native meeting place, Knik became the principal Cook Inlet town from 1898, shipping goods to the interior, and was once the largest settlement on the inlet. The Alaska Railroad bypassed it from 1916 and its buildings were abandoned or moved.View source →
