Why this spot

1890-1914 gold camp, placer work to 1940s

Gold camp founded in 1890 by prospectors hunting the Lost Breyfogle mine, with houses, stores and saloons and water hauled by donkey from a spring four miles off. It revived in 1898 and again with the Goldfield-era rush, reaching 300 people in 1907; the mill ran until 1914 and fewer than 10 people remained by the late 1930s.View source →
