Why this spot

1810-1972 textile mill town

Begun in 1810 around the Ely family textile mill as Elysville, renamed Alberton by the Gary family in 1853 and Daniels in 1940. The owner closed the company housing after 1968, and Tropical Storm Agnes wrecked most of the empty buildings in 1972.View source →
