Why this spot
1880-1917 silver, lead and zinc camp
Silver camp on the upper Crystal River that had over 500 residents, a newspaper, saloons and hotels in the mid-1880s. Remoteness and costly mule-train haulage drove decline, and the mines and powerhouse closed in 1917.View source →
