Why this spot

1893-1916 gold camp, later prospecting

Gold camp apparently founded in 1893 near Garnet, with heavy mining from 1896 that yielded an estimated $200,000 to $250,000. A mill built in 1916 failed to revive it, and prospecting continued on and off from 1932 to 1950.View source →
