Why this spot

1906-1920 Tonopah-era gold mill town

Mill town built a mile and a half west of Silver Peak when land speculators there drove prices too high; the Pittsburg-Silver Peak company's 100-stamp mill of 1907 was the largest in Nevada, served by the Silver Peak Railroad. It had newspapers and a post office until 1915 and was a ghost town by 1920.View source →
