Why this spot

1862-1910 gold mining camp, 1930s placer revival

Founded in 1862 by Theodore Boggs on Big Bug Creek, it averaged about 100 people (115 in 1890) and had a post office from 1879 to 1910. The town died with the mines, though 1930s placer and dredge miners returned to the creek.View source →
