Why this spot

1899-1911 textile mill village

A four-story yarn mill built in 1899 to 1900, then the largest in North Carolina, with a village of over 450 people, 60 company houses, a hotel, company store and Moravian church. It burned in 1911 and the owner chose not to rebuild, so most houses were rolled on logs to Mayodan.View source →
